Pebbles Staff
    All employees will be required to take health and safety training related to COVID-19 prior to caring for children at Pebbles Preschool.

    All Employees will be required to wear a mask when required to meet parents for drop off and pick up of children. All will be required to wear masks for the duration of the school day.

    All employees will have their temperature checked as they enter the building and adhere to the Pebbles COVID-19 sick policies and keep in close communication with the Pebbles Director if/when they start to feel sick.

    All employees will strive to maintain at least 6 feet of separation from each other. Hand washing, cleaning, and sanitizing will be intensified.

    Parent Drop Off & Pick Up
    All drop off & pick up of children will be completed outside of the facility.

    Parents can park anywhere in the front and walk their child to the front doors to be screened. The circle drive will NOT be in use until further notice is given.

    At drop off, a Pebbles employee will be there to do a temperature and quick well check. At pick up, a Pebbles employee will meet you at the front door with your child.

    Screening for admittance to Pebbles
    A Pebbles employee will take the child’s temperature. Parents will be required to fill out a daily screening sheet. If a parent needs to enter the facility, they must adhere to a temperature check and wear a face covering. Parents will be asked the following each day:
                Is your child experiencing any symptoms? Fever, Cough, Sore Throat, etc.
                In the past 14 days, has your child been in close proximity to anyone who has experienced any COVID symptoms?
                In the past 14 days, has your child bee in close proximity to anyone who has tested positive for COVID – 19?
                In the past 14 days, has your child or your family been on a commercial flight or traveled outside of the United States?

    A Pebbles employee will take the child to their class and upon immediate entrance, the child will wash their hands.

    Screening for NO admittance to Pebbles
    Any child will be sent home who has any of the following new or worsening signs or symptoms of possible COVID-19:
                Sore Throat
                Shortness of Breath/Difficulty breathing
                Loss of tase or smell
                Repeated shaking with chills
                Muscle Pain
                A temperature of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or greater

    The child will be excluded when at least 3 days (or 72 hours) have passed since recovery from symptoms (without the use of fever-reducing medications) & the child has improvement in respiratory symptoms (cough, shortness of breath).

    If the child has symptoms that could be COVID-19 and wants to return to school before completing the 72 hour isolation period, the parent must obtain a medical professional’s note clearing the child for return based on an alternative diagnosis.  

    If any child or household members has known close contact to a person who is lab-confirmed to have COVID-19 will only be able to return to Pebbles with proof of a negative test or at the end of the 14 day quarantine period.

    Social Distancing Strategies
    Only the following individuals will be allowed access to our facility:
    Operation Staff
    Persons with legal authority to enter, including law enforcement officers, Licensing Staff, and DFPS Staff
    Professionals providing services to children
    Children enrolled at the operation
    Parents who have children enrolled and present at the operation.

    Parents should only enter the child care center when necessary

    No tours of the facility will be given.

    Pebbles will strive to follow the modified child care ratios set forth by the state of Texas.

    Classes will remain with the same group for the preschool day and for the large part of morning and afternoon extended care.

    Our WHAM program will be done by the teacher in the classroom or designated outside space. Our JAM program will take place in the classroom.

    Classes will be on the playground one class at a time. Outside activities (weather permitting) will be highly encouraged.

    If possible, at nap time, children’s nap mats are spaced out as much as possible, ideally 6 feet apart.

    If possible, distance will be increased during table work, snack, lunch, etc.

    Water and sensory tables will be in limited use.

    No toys or unnecessary items from home will be allowed into the facility.

    Cleaning and Disinfecting Measures

    Cleaning and disinfecting efforts will be intensified over the pre-COVID-19 standards.

    Pebbles will routinely clean, sanitize, and disinfect toys, games, items in the classroom that are frequently touched throughout the day.

    In toddler rooms, where children are more likely to put toys in their mouth, those toys will be set aside until they are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected.

    Toys will not be shared with other groups of toddlers or preschoolers unless they are washed and sanitized before being moved from one group to another.

    Toys that cannot be cleaned and sanitized will not be used.

    Nap mats will be kept in individual baskets. Baskets will be cleaned and disinfected daily.

    High touch areas such as doorknobs, light switches, classroom sink handles, countertops, tables, chairs, baskets and the playground structure will be cleaned on a daily basis.

    All bathrooms will be cleaned and disinfected three times per day.

    All children and Pebbles employees will wash hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds multiple times per day. With teacher supervision and if hands are not visibly dirty, alcohol-based hand sanitizers with at least 60 percent alcohol will be used in preschool classrooms.

    Children’s lunches and cups will be stored in designated and separate area.

    Children and Pebbles employees will wash hand prior to and after eating snack & lunch each day.

    Children who become sick while at school will be separated from well children in another classroom. After the child has gone home, the isolation room will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected.

    Pandemic Tuition Policy

    1. In the event a teacher or student test positive and the Health Department requires us to close the school or a specific class.

    The following amount PER DAY would be credited to your account.

    Toddler                     $22 per day Preschool        $20 per day

    ExCare                      $5 per day

    2. In the event that a county or state order required us to close the preschool OR requires us to care only for children of essential workers the following policy would apply:

    Full tuition will be due for the first two weeks of closure. If the preschool is closed longer than two weeks, 50% of tuition will be due. Parents may give a 30 day notice to withdraw from the program if they feel it is in the best interest of their family. Fifty percent of the tuition will be due during the 30-day notice period. A full enrollment fee will be required to re-enroll in the program.  

    We will NOT follow Keller ISD in the event of complete remote learning, extended closures, etc. We WILL follow the Keller calendar for the normal school year breaks – Thanksgiving, Christmas, Spring Break, etc.

    These situations cannot begin to cover every scenario that may happen during this pandemic and the upcoming school year but we are striving to be as prepared as possible.
